What You'll Get
Without dance, people could only hum along to “Macarena,” and Jane Austen characters would be forced to say what was really on their minds. Let movements speak with today’s Groupon to Studio 6 Ballroom in Tacoma. Choose between the following options:
- For $29, you get admission to a one-month group-dance-class series (up to a $75 value).
- For $79, you get two 50-minute private dance lessons for one person or a couple (up to a $180 value).<p>
The skilled instructors at Studio 6 Ballroom transform left feet into deft dancers during classes covering styles, including jazz, swing, salsa, ballroom, and Zumba. During a one-month group-dance-class series—which may include four or five sessions depending on the length of the month—feet flit around the dance floor like moths around a streetlight. In the Argentine Tango class, in-house instructor Natasha employs over 15 years of experience to teach budding dancers the style’s unique characteristics such as cross walking and achieving an offset embrace. Swing lessons impart knowledge of how to lead and follow, and Zumba classes teach students upbeat routines designed to burn calories and summon rainstorms. Customers can check the schedule to select a fitting dance-class series.

About Studio 6 Ballroom
When Studio 6 Ballroom owner Wes Rogers learned how to be light on his feet, it might’ve helped that they were rarely on solid ground. Rogers began taking lessons while he served in the navy, and, after returning stateside, he continued his studies under the tutelage of national title holder Natasha Thayer—now the master coach at Studio 6. Natasha has trained amateurs and professionals alike, has worked in both television and live action performances, and co-created Dancing with the Tacoma Stars. Together they have created an elegant space replete with chandeliers and club lights where toe-tappers can hone moves for dances such as the foxtrot, the Argentine tango, and swing’s nimble dips and triple backflips. Studio 6’s independent instructors bring their own flair to classes, which have earned several accolades from local media and residents.
