Studio 64

When Studio 64 first opened, the instructors were exclusively dedicated to ballet-barre workouts, which combine elements of Pilates, yoga, the Lotte Berk method, and ballet to tone and lengthen muscles. They’ve expanded their repertoire of classes to broaden their student community, now offering other types of classes including Zumba, yoga, and a children’s ballet course known as Curious Lamb Ballet. To help members supplement physical workouts with dietary changes, the staff’s certified integrative-nutrition health coach gives free consultations.

Almost as notable as Studio 64’s array of classes is its strikingly modern interior. A Roy Lichtenstein print adds graphic flair to the lobby’s white walls, and students can recline on the lengthy padded bench with a warm beverage from the complimentary tea cart before acting out their favorite scenes from Chess: The Movie on the floor’s oversize mocha-and-cream checker squares. In the workout studio, soft light seeps through the intricate pattern of orb-shaped lights, casting that same pattern against the walls. During classes, students can check their form in the wall-to-wall mirror as they stretch atop the sprung hardwood floor.

Studio 64

Old, tired, and done: these words are banished from Martha Weinstein's vocabulary. The energetic 87-year-old's career, which includes hosting makeover shows in Buenos Aires, recording a fitness album in the 1950s, and penning skincare encyclopedias in the 1970s, adds evidence to the adage that you are as young as you feel. She brings this belief to Body Allure Day Spa, an intimate beauty haven.

Here, Weinstein and her skilled staffers—who nicknamed her "The Oracle of Brentwood"—employ anti-aging facials and signature skincare services, detoxifying body treatments, and soothing lullabies to foster youthful complexions. But the real rejuvenating secret on the menu is the facial toning treatment, which Weinstein invented herself. This painless, 30-minute service utilizes nanocurrent technology, which works to stimulate cellular activity while strengthening facial muscles and firming sagging skin. Weinstein also created the Stay Young System, which allows her clients to perform the treatment in the privacy of their own homes or carpool lanes.
