What You'll Get
The best photographers rise to the top by practicing, while second-best photographers rise to the top by shooting blackmail photos of the first-best. Snap like a champ with today's Groupon: for $65, you get admission to the four-hour Everyday Photography Event workshop from Studio 807 (a $180 value). This Groupon is valid on Saturday sessions scheduled from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on June 11, July 2, July 23, and Aug 13 at Studio Movie Grill on Town & Country Lane. This deal includes a continental breakfast.
WIth a staff of educated, experienced photographers, Studio 807 shares its snap-shooting savvy with beginner shutterbugs in group classes and private lessons inside the cozy, leather-seated Studio Movie Grill. Professional portraiteer professor Lana Kelley leads the Everyday Photography Event, which primes up to 150 students of all levels in basic techniques for capturing professional photos on SLR cameras (but point-and-shoot camera owners can also learn helpful methods). Photography mavens arm pupils with an arsenal of knowledge, including tips on freezing fast action, mastering difficult lighting, and how to take pictures of Bigfoot playing the violin in the woods. Students also pick up a plethora of helpful photo vocabulary and creative, easy ideas for home set-ups.
For 30 days after the session, photography pupils can maintain their studies with online student help, take-home reference material, and regularly surprising slumbering neighbors with a snapshot sneak attack.

About Everyday Photo Class
A graduate of New York’s School of Visual Arts, Everyday Photo Class–owner Lana Kelley now helps students in her native Houston expand their photographic possibilities with a distilled version of her own scholarship and experience. Her custom curriculum breaks down the path to digital artistry into four two-hour classes—The Basics, Techniques, Perfection, and Picture Editing—that grant her students greater creative control as they learn to harness their cameras’ advanced features and change lenses with their feet.
