What You'll Get
In order to achieve weightlessness, one must travel to the moon, throw a scale from atop a tall building, or punch Isaac Newton in the kidneys. Explore more benevolent buoyancy with today's Groupon: for $20, you get one introductory scuba-diving class at Sub-Aquatic Sports & Service (SASS) (a $40 value). A waiver must be signed before diving.
SASS has inspired and taught individuals to explore liquid terrain for more than 30 years. In the introductory Discover Scuba Class, scuba newcomers can benefit from dive-safety instruction, an equipment fitting, and actual in-water experience in a local pool. Sessions last from one to two hours and all equipment is provided except for bathing suits and towels, ultimately preparing students for shipwreck excursions, coral-reef photographing, or Olympic-sized bathtub cleaning.
Rick Sass, an avid diver and acronym enthusiast, founded SASS in 1980, growing it into one of the largest teaching scuba facilities in mid-Michigan. Sass and the professional instructors keep their skills sharp by leading weekend and weekday trips in and around the Great Lakes, as well as international trips to Australia, Fiji, and Davy Jones's gym locker.

About Sub-Aquatic Sports & Service
Richard J. Sass first felt the weight of a scuba tank about his shoulders at 15, when a friend's father strapped him into a suit and threw him into the world's deep end, as it were. Rick fell in love with diving before ever surfacing on that first adventure, and he started Sub-Aquatic Sports & Service – or SASS for short – to share his passion with others. He and his staff teach a full range of scuba classes, from beginner certifications to becoming a dive instructor. They lead trips into waters across the world, from Australia to Micronesia, from the Great Lakes to the Galapagos Islands.
