The late, great mambo legend Tito Puente is often referred to as the "King of Latin Music." Winner of five Grammys, he's mostly known for his extraordinary skill at playing the timbales, though he was also a master of the "vibes," or vibraphone. Costa Rican percussionist and vibes player Felipe Fournier pays homage to the great Latin jazz percussionist and bandleader during this special show at Subrosa in New York City. Fournier, who's been twice nominated for Grammy Awards himself, will focus on Puente's mambo period and vibes playing during this loving tribute, part of the Blue Note Jazz Festival.
