As the Executive Chef at Suede, Lawrence delights in marrying traditional Caribbean ingredients, such as fresh seafood and jerk chicken, with modern culinary techniques. The resulting dishes nail that elusive sweet spot between inventive and delicious. After all, it's not every day you see a New York-style oxtail pizza.
Unlike the menu's bold flavors, the color palette at Suede relies on subtlety. Tables line the serene, earth-toned space, which gains a dose of rustic character from its red-brick and wood-paneled walls. Meanwhile, overhead, honeycomb-like light fixtures cast an amber glow across the intimate room.
