About Sumner County Museum
Started by John Garrott with a mission to preserve the county's history, the Sumner County Museum houses a variety of items, some of which date back to the prehistoric age. Visitors of all ages can learn about the jobs, culture, and daily life of the past generations. The museum also organizes a variety of projects and events for both children and adults.
Eye Catcher: The first pumper fire engine of Gallatin, which gives some insight into how the firefighters used to work.
Permanent Mainstay: A military exhibit, which features items from both World Wars, the Vietnam War, and War Between the States, among others.
Don't Miss: The yearly Gallatin Candlelight Cemetery Tour, during which the participants can find out more about the lives of people who are buried there.
