Lovely walk to view some absolutely beautiful gardens. Lots of varieties in bloom now so the perfume was amazing. Enjoyed the birds and koi ponds as well. Just a lovely experience.

Sunken Gardens was beautiful! I was very amazed at the beauty hidden away off a busy street. There were so many tropical plants and animals too. The plants were so well cared for. We also saw koi fish, tortoise, macaw, cockatoo, and flamingo! The animals were show offs, especially the birds! I highly recommend spending an 1 to 1.5 hours here during your visit to Florida! It’s relaxing and beautiful!

The gardens were beautiful and clean. The paths were very difficult to understand how to follow thru the maze. There are exit signs everywhere and the map makes little sence.

About Sunken Gardens

In the middle of Saint Petersburg surrounded by tall buildings and shopping malls lies a 100-year-old oasis of waterfalls and lush plant life. Sunken Gardens, one of the city’s oldest living museums, surrounds visitors with a thriving ecosystem of more than 50,000 tropical plants and flowers. Winding paths lead explorers around rivers and ponds filled with fish and turtles. Flamingos walk the banks as passersby spy parrots and admire butterflies gliding from flower to flower. The tranquil gardens also host educational events and daily yoga sessions that help ease stress generated by everyday lives and not being able to touch your left elbow with your left hand.
