I love this store! It's an eclectic mix of good for your home indoors and out. They've got a great selection of hardware, paint, home decor and gifts. I've been visiting for some time now and found that their service has been consistently outstanding! I highly recommend!

Sunset Ridge Home and Hardware is such a unique shop. As one of the employees and I joked, if they don't have it, you don't need it! I go there when I need something that is hard to find or if I need a cute gift for someone. A perfect little one stop shop!

What You'll Get

Long praised for their abilities to construct simple birdhouses out of real birds, tools are also handy for decorating empty tool sheds and playing mountain-lion dentist. Get your hands on some useful tools with today's deal: for $10, you get $20 worth of hardware and home goods from Sunset Ridge Home and Hardware in Alamo Heights. This Groupon is valid for in-store purchases only.

Infusing the friendly service and pragmatism of a neighborhood hardware store with the eclectic selection of a gift boutique, Sunset Ridge boasts a mammoth range of outdoor living products, hardware items, kitchen wares, and home-keeping goods to bedeck the deck and festoon the platoon. Gourmavens can stock their scant pantries and suspiciously tidy junk drawers with popular OXO goods or sturdy Emile Henry ceramic cookware, bakeware, and Victorian shapewear. Home fragrances, such as a slew of Trapp votive candles ($3.49), mask the scents of gorillas in your midst, whereas burlier goods arrive in the form of Tomboy Tools, pink hammers ($14.99 each) whose proceeds go to fight breast cancer. Legendary flame-wielders can lick their lips over John Henry barbecue seasonings and handy grill supplies, and amateur pigment flingers can stock up on a spectrum of Benjamin Moore paints for their Jackson Pollock–inspired chicken coops.

Reviews

Sunset Ridge Home and Hardware has yet to receive many reviews, but it was featured by the San Antonio Express-News's $hopGirl blog on MySanAntonio.com. Three Yahoo! Locals give it a perfect five stars.

  • Though privately owned, it’s the only store in San Antonio that still gets its hardware supplied by Ace Hardware, so you know the basics are covered. Then there’s the fun stuff. For $hopGirl, that includes the Curly Girl wall hangings with fun sayings and Trend Lab’s hooded towels and washcloths for baby. – Jennifer Rodriguez, $hopGirl, MySanAntonio.com
  • This is the best store in San Antonio. They have all types of home goods, hardware, gifts, yard, everything. The best thing about this store is the staff, they are always helpful which is not found just anywhere these days. – Tully, Yahoo! Local

About Sunset Ridge Home & Hardware

"Funky" isn't a word typically associated with hardware stores, but that's exactly how Amy and David Doyle describe Sunset Ridge Home & Hardware. Upon opening the place in 1995, the pair envisioned a one-stop hardware and home-improvement haven that shook off the sawdust and embraced the unconventional in ways that didn't include slapping googly eyes on every two-by-four. That's why the San Antonio Express-News' $hopGirl can cite a unique selection of Curly Girl wall hangings, hooded towels, and Texas cookbooks beside traditional tools and housewares sourced from Ace Hardware. An epic spread of Benjamin Moore paints and Breville kitchen products create an ocular feast for fixer-uppers as handcrafted soaps and fragrant candles ignite olfactory senses. Seasoned staffers roam the aisles, touting talents that include knife sharpening, key cutting, and lamp repair in addition to several other services.
