About Superstition Meadery
Since 2012, Superstition Meadery has been shaking up the craft beverage industry by reintroducing the world’s oldest fermented beverage to mankind! Mead is a wine made from honey, and has its roots in cultures all around the world, with a history reaching back thousands of years. Superstition Meadery is Arizona’s largest winery, and is world-renown for its complex and varied meads and ciders. From dry and sparkling to decadent and dessert-sweet, with styles ranging from the traditional to the creative, there is something for everyone at both of the Superstition locations in Prescott, AZ, and in Downtown Phoenix! Read on to learn more about Superstition:
Their creativity knows no bounds! Superstition specializes in several styles of mead, from the most delightfully simple traditional types, which bring out the complex character of a single-source honey, to the most outrageously creative! Some meads are made with dark sweet berries and juicy fruits, while others are made with herbs and spices like vanilla, ginger, hops, and lemon rinds. Their most beloved meads often defy definition, such as their Peanut Butter Jelly Crime, which tastes like a PBJ in a bottle, or their White Series, which features berries and white chocolate! Be sure to try out their bourbon barrel aged meads for a truly refined experience.
Superstition is rated as one of the top meaderies in the world, and their Blueberry Spaceship Box Cider has been the World’s Top Rated Cider for several years running. Their meads have won multitudes of awards in competitions domestically and abroad!
The owners, Jeff, and Jen Herbert were named the Best Small Business Persons in the Nation by the US Small Business Association in 2019. Innovation is at the heart of Superstition, and the entire team works tirelessly to create not only the best mead and cider in the world, but to give the best customer experience possible!
They just opened up a brand new mead and food pairing restaurant called Superstition Downtown in the heart of Phoenix! Superstition Downtown brings together the world’s oldest cooking method, cooking over a fire, with the world’s oldest alcohol, mead, for an unforgettably creative experience in a gorgeously renovated historic building. Enjoy their spacious heated patio any time of the year!
