The SusanSez Lower Eastside Walkabout takes you on a stroll through streets that were once farms, then crowded neighborhoods of immigrants, and now home to the trendiest boutiques, clubs and restaurants in the city. The tour visits the most interesting shops and places of historical interest in this fascinating neighborhood, including historic synagogues, the Essex Street Market, a Buddhist temple, the best deli in NYC and the latest additions to this ever-changing area. Along the way you'll get to sample the flavors that draw locals from all over the city -- nay, country -- to visit the neighborhood: doughnuts, pickles, salami, penny candy, dumplings and more.
As it constantly reinvents itself the shops and businesses reflect the Lower Eastside’s most recent rebirth – the destination for designer boutiques, cozy restaurants, lounges and music venues.
The tour is approximately 2.5 hours in length and includes all tastings.
