Led by licensed New York City guide Susan Birnbaum, this 2.5-hour walking tour of Astoria includes stops at restaurants, cafes and shops featuring international food from four continents. Tastings may include Greek, Italian, German, Middle Eastern, South American and/or Southeast Asian specialties, along with award-winning pizza, reflecting the area's vast cultural diversity. The excursion also covers the history of the area, its role in the film and television industry, and wraps up at the Bohemian Hall beer garden.
As you explore the restaurants, cafes and food shops of Queens, this tour is a real international feast of 4 continents- a tribute to Astoria’s diversity. Tastings will include Middle Eastern Pastry, Gelato (in season), Spanakopita (spinach pie), Colombian sweet bread, olives, feta (at least 2 varieties) and award-winning pizza, along with Brazilian, Chilean and Asian specialties.
