What a discovery!! I would have never known about Sushi Ave if not for Groupon! The first thing is... everything is so fresh! Try the miso - not salty and so very tasty. One of my favorites is Hamachi Kama - a Japanese street food item I learned to love when I was in Japan more than forty-five years ago. The Hamachi Kama served at Sushi Ave was so fresh, succulent and moist and the skin was perfectly crisped. They also have Saki Kama! The edaname was great - lightly salted and perfectly steamed. In addition, we (my spouse and I) had the dragon roll, spider roll and the rainbow roll - three rolls that truly test freshness and quality... and the preparation skills of the Chef. Each was perfect - prepared by one of the best Sushi Chefs I have ever had the pleasure of watching. I did not ask to verify, but it appears it is a family owned and operated sushi restaurant and they know what they are doing. It was as if I passed through time and space and stepped into one of the very best Nagasaki street restaurants. Although Sushi Ave is far from where I live, it is a restaurant I will visit often!
