SO FUN! The teacher (Alexandra?) was amazing and fun. However, not sure the higher priced one (which is what we did) was worth the extra money ("gourmet ingredients"?...not so much...). The location was just ok....was upset when I was told there was no sake (and we went to that location specifically because the Groupon said it was the only one that had sake)

We had a fantastic time, but if you go as a couple, know you'll probably still be hungry after the class.

What You'll Get

Sushi presents food in its purest form, just like a cupcake plucked fresh from a Hostess tree. Pick up a tasty parcel with today's Groupon for sushi-making classes from Sushi by Simon. Choose between two options:

  • For $99, you get a 2.5-hour gourmet sushi-making class with two free drinks (a $200 value).
  • For $250, you get a private, in-home sushi-making class for two (a $500 value).

Sushi by Simon instills maki mavens with in-depth instruction from Simon and his staff in the ways of readying, rolling, and relishing sushi creations at home. The 2.5-hour public, gourmet class, which takes place at either Stone Creek Bar and Lounge or Central Bar, provides a hands-on approach to crafting sushi, as it bestows rice-rolling recruits with their own sushi mats and an included multitude of fresh fish and vegetables, including salmon, tuna, yellowtail, avocado, and more. Participants will learn to bundle delectable edibles in mouthwatering combinations and various states of dress, from regular rolls to inside-out creations, all while sipping on two free drinks. Unlike a debutante ball, knives aren't provided, and group classers are encouraged to bring their own, along with a cutting board, for the utmost in edible education. Check the sidebar for dates and corresponding locations.

For the private class, sushi sage Simon Feil and his staff brings sushi-making skills to the participant's home or space-shuttle kitchen, divulging a wealth of succulent seafood, including salmon, tuna, and other sushi-stocking stuffers onto roll-ready countertops. Students will learn the ins and outs of superior roll-making between sips of soul-warming sake.
