After years working in the sport fishing industry in San Diego, Randy Musterer made a unique choice that led him down the path to becoming "Sushi Randy." Fascinated by the artistry of Japanese cuisine, mastered his skills through several well known sushi bars throughout Northern California, developing his signature sushi rolls that combine unique ingredients and visual elements. After working for other people, he decided to open his own place and thus Sushi Confidential was born.

The innovative menu begins with starters like macadamia nut crab cakes and spicy tuna jalapeño boats, as well as a robust cocktail program. There are classic hot entrées but the real action is in the rolls. The shishito kamikaze combines spicy tuna, cream cheese, and tempura pepper, while the Spy vs Spy blends shrimp tempura, crab, spicy tuna, avocado and charred scallion sauce. The restaurant is open late into the evening and night, with daily happy hours and an all-night happy hour during Sharks games, and during the warmer months, diners can enjoy meals on the spacious patio, which will open in the near future. They also offer catering for small and large events alike, and hold sushi-making events.
