What You'll Get

Sushi delights the eyes with colors before it delights the mouth with flavors, just as a visiting uncle delights the kids with magic tricks before delighting the adults by haplessly running his houseboat ashore. Take in a two-part delight with today's Groupon: for $26, you get a two-course sushi dinner for two at Sushi Mambo (up to a $53.94 value). This dinner includes:

  • Sushi for two (a $32.99 value)
  • Two glasses of wine (up to a $7 value each)
  • A shared dessert (up to a $6.95 value)

Sushi Mambo's chefs skillfully craft the classic fish-and-rice combos that have become staples of Japanese-American cuisine. The Sushi for Couples entree delights friends, songwriting duos, and newly excised twins with an assortment of 15 pieces of sushi served alongside two delectable rolls. Crab and avocado meld their rich flavors with the fresh crispness of cucumber in the california roll, and dabs of wasabi add flaring heat to the simple yet textured taste of the tuna maki. Soothe parched gullets with a glass of the Corte Giara pinot grigio or the sweetly powerful premium plum wine, a strong fermentation purified of all hints of Little Jack Horner's wayward finger.

Afterward, share a dessert of ice cream in mango, green-tea, or red-bean flavors served inside a soft rice gel, or opt for the hot, crisp breading clinging to a cold mountain of tempura ice cream. Bright colors run amok over Sushi Mambo's low pagoda-style exterior, green and red eaves seasonally supporting paper lanterns, icicle lights, or children who've convinced themselves the ground is lava. Bright orange doors ring the building and are thrown open in the warmer months for a semialfresco dining experience.

About Sushi Mambo

Sushi Mambo's exterior, with its wooden panels and Japanese-style sloping eaves, evokes the rustic charm of an Edo-era highway inn or the comfortable elegance of a samurai's man cave. Guests dine on artfully arranged maki lined with yellowtail, salmon, and eel or savor the tastes of miso ramen soup or bowls of chicken udon. Specialty rolls combine the complimentary flavors and textures of crunchy tempura chicken, creamy avocado, and spicy sauces, and sashimi plates arrange delicate slices of salmon or tender tuna onto colorful plates of greens, lemons, and carved carrot flowers. The restaurant was also featured on the TV series "Curb Your Enthusiasm."
