What You'll Get
For $69, today's deal gets you a four-hour intro to hang gliding lesson (a $139 value) at Susquehanna Flight Park in Cooperstown. Classes take place on weekends from April to November, starting promptly at 9 a.m. Students should wear long pants and comfortable shoes.
Safely lofting flight-dreamers for more than three decades, USHPA-certified instructor Dan Guido facilitates wind-borne thrills over the green expanse of a 40-acre park. A four-hour lesson launches with an introductory film and ground school session. Next, students begin soaring at five feet while producing airplane noises from their mouths, soon taking to the five training hills for their six proper flights. If inclement weather interrupts a lesson, the remaining flights can take place on a later date within 30 days. Once they've sprinted off the precipice and felt themselves rise instead of plummet, gliders will catch beautiful views of a verdant, forested landscape as they take wing over the rolling flight park, accompanied by nothing but the quiet rush of empty air and the same herd of flying pigs that inspired the Wright brothers' early experiments.

About Susquehanna Flight Park Inc
Certified by the US Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association and drawing upon more than three decades of in-sky experience, master pilot and instructor Dan Guido teaches the basics of foot-launch hang-gliding to a new generation of enthusiasts. He puts Susquehanna Flight Park Inc’s five training hills and one mountain launch to good use by introducing fundamentals during beginning practice runs or demonstrating how to stop at eagle crossings during advanced soaring sessions. Lessons schemes range from single introductory sessions to the six-session Hang One program, which helps new fliers earn their USHPA Novice rating.
