About Swan Point Yacht & Country Club
When it opened, Swan Point was a simple, nine-hole course stretched out along the banks of the Potomac River. In the late 1980s, renowned course designer Rob Cupp—who was a consultant at Augusta National Golf Club—was hired to expand and redesign Swan Point. The resulting 18-hole layout instantly became one of the most revered courses in the Mid-Atlantic region. While golfing at Swan Point today, it's easy to forget you're in Maryland and not in the Carolinas: water or marshland comes into play on 12 holes, and wildlife such as deer, herons, and osprey often pass by or stop and ask for directions. Plus, five tees at each hole make the course an inviting challenge even for beginners.
Away from the links, the property boasts an outdoor pool, illuminated tennis courts, and two dining establishments, including the Point Grill. Golfers can pull up via Cuckhold Creek and dock their boat at the club's marina near the 16th hole for no fee during rounds.
