In the September workshop, entrepreneur Marlo Scott breaks down each step to crafting the kind of strategic business plan that can win financial backing, using her own successful business proposal as an example. The October workshop examines low-cost approaches to giving your small business a strong brand identity and then marketing it via social media, newsletters, online promotions, press releases, and story pitches to media outlets. Class participants sip coffee and snack on pastries during each two-hour workshop. At the end, Groupon customers depart with a box of four pre-packaged cupcakes. All workshops run from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
