SwimSecure

Swim Secure's owner, Rob, is a busy guy. He's a student of philosophy and environmental geography at the University of Toronto, he edits two student journals, and he volunteers as an emergency responder. Thanks to the Youth Employment Services program, he also teaches swimming lessons—something he's enjoyed doing for more than eight years.

As the owner of his own business, Rob is free to design his own curriculum, and he particularly favors parent-child classes. He puts parents in the pool with infants and toddlers, initially focusing his attention on teaching them how to teach. Adults then gently coax and guide their children, helping them develop swimming fundamentals such as diving and sneaking up on unsuspecting antelopes.
