What You'll Get
If humans had never learned to swim, they would never have been able to overthrow the tyrant dolphin King George and children would now be outfitted with blowholes at birth. Maintain human independence with today's Groupon: for $60, you get eight 30-minute basics swim classes held during a two-week period (a $120 value) at Swimming Stages Swim Academy.
Swimming Stages' cadre of certified and CPR-trained instructors channel their love of water and compassionate teaching to instill flipperless students of all ages with essential aquatic skills. Guppies-in-training as young as 6 months can impress familiarity with watery strokes into their spongy minds, and adults who always preferred land to its liquid counterpart can paddle with increasing confidence through the fundamentals. Classes contain no more than four students to ensure personalized instruction, necessary and in-depth correction, and a tight-knit cannonball support group. Each student swims in an age-appropriate basic class for skill-level assessment, and after two weeks and eight classes, splashing students will have acquired enough buoyancy to finally pursue the merman of their dreams or dive for sunken candy-bar flotillas.

About Swimming Stages Swim Academy
Some swim coaches can only tout their credentials and experiences, but director Susie Collins can prove the results of her labor. One of her pupils is working toward swimming in the Olympics, and a thrilled parent recently praised her ease and dedication in teaching their special-needs son how to swim. All the academy's instructors receive training in water safety, stroke curriculum, and child development directly from Collins, who also teaches games and techniques to motivate even the most stubborn inflatable alligator. Students learn at their own pace, following Collins's stage-by-stage method that leads toward individual swimming goals, whether students want to compete professionally or use their butterfly stroke to blend in at the local dolphin tank.
