Recent studies show that people who dance tend to possess above-average strength, endurance, and flexibility, as well as a significantly lower risk of getting served. Help a youngster hone this vital skill with today’s Groupon: for $20, children get to participate in one month of classes (one class per week) at Syracuse Dance Academy (up to a $70 value). Additionally, the academy's $25 registration fee is waived for Groupon holders.
Syracuse Dance Academy's experienced instructors lead budding body movers through a variety of classes focused on fortifying technique rather than just choreography. Forty-five minute sessions in children's dance combine ballet and tap instruction, introducing 3- to 5-year-olds to fundamentals such as rhythm, timing, jitterbugging, and coordination. Little ones can master the plié during introductory ballet courses, and more experienced dancers can impress flattened cardboard boxes with techniques learned in hip-hop. Trampolines assist during tumbling classes, in which skills are tailored to students' ages and abilities. All music and costumes are age-appropriate, assuaging mothers' fears that their children will come home dressed as justices of the Supreme Court.
Prospective students and parents are welcome to tour Syracuse Dance Academy's facilities during an open house and registration event on August 27, 2011 from 9 a.m. until noon.
