Dining out with friends can foster healthy relationships that might otherwise be limited to impersonal group texts or overly personal bathtime visits. Get a bite in person with a person with today's Groupon: for $15, you get $30 worth of American cuisine at Tabatha's Family Tree in Baldwinsville.
Owners Tabatha Babbitt and Pat Personius bedeck Tabatha's Family Tree's tables with hearty pasta, meat, and seafood platters before their handmade desserts satisfy sweet teeth amid warm orange and cream walls. Diners can customize the pasta primavera's mosaic of broccoli, carrots, and peppers with a choice of ziti, angel hair, linguini, or fettucini ($13.95). The chicken francaise ($15.25) infuses a citrus splash into a sautéed boneless breast with lemon and white wine, and a cabaret of fried fantail shrimp ($15.25) prances around a side dish and soup or dinner salad. On Fridays and Saturdays, cuts of prime rib ($16.25–$20.25) step onto plates in princess, queen, and king portions, knighting forks for such valorous deeds as rescuing helpless spinach and artichoke lagoons. For a sugary fix, guests can dig into slices of handmade fruit and cream pies ($3.50).
Tabatha's Family Tree
Tabatha's Family Tree is aptly named because Tabatha Babbitt and Patricia Personius co-own and operate the restaurant with her family members. In the kitchen the chefs prepare pastas, prime rib, and veal scallopini sautéed with peppers, tomatoes, and mushrooms in a red wine sauce. The same careful preparation of their meals in the restaurant goes into their catered events, which can occur on or off their premises.
