Tacoma Fitness Boot Camp challenges its patrons with ever-changing, total-body workouts held six days a week. Trainers sling a set of intense tasks in each class, pulling moves designed to boost endurance and whittle the abdominals while targeting fat on such problem zones as the arms, hips, thighs, and prehensile tail. Throughout each session, coaches closely monitor technique, ensuring exercisers perform moves safely. Tacoma Fitness Boot Camp also provides each patron with a sextet of at-home tools designed to bolster in-class regimens. A private community site hosts helpful workout tips, videos, and a weekly nutrition guide, and a four-minute workout timer cuts off sets and reminds exercisers to check on any hard-boiling eggs. Journals, before-and-after pictures, and body measurements serve as self-reference to track progress throughout the self-improvement period.

Grit City Fitness and Performance

Sunlight pours onto the exposed-brick walls of the Grit City Fitness and Performance private training facility, where exercise rings dangle from the ceiling and colorful weights line the shelves. Throughout the week, the facility is a flurry of motion as students of all ages and fitness levels undergo high-intensity exercise routines as well as personal- and team-training sessions. Personal-training sessions adhere to the specialty program designed by certified personal trainer and fitness aficionado Jeff Jowers, who combines fat-burning exercises with nutritional guidance to banish unwanted pounds more efficiently than traditional workouts or covering yourself in helium balloons. In team-training sessions, Jowers and his staff bring the same level of intensity, adding an element of teamwork that encourages all students to celebrate each other's successes, work harder to achieve goals, and hit new personal records.

The workouts are throughout the day, always different, and well-planned. Jeff, the owner, is attentive, high energy, and cares that his clients get results. The classes are small enough that instructors can offer lots of feedback, in case you're doing exercises incorrectly. That also means that they will call you out if they know you can handle more.
