Dedicated artist Talin Lyman helps students hone their brushstrokes during fun and relaxing painting classes in a professional studio setting. During After School Art Classes, at 3:30 p.m. on Monday–Thursday, children between 5–14 years unleash ideas upon blank canvases while learning interesting fundamentals and facts about art history, such as why every surrealist painting contains at least one hidden chew toy. Painting to the Oldies classes, at 10 a.m. Monday–Thursday, allow adult students to enjoy step-by-step instruction set to music that includes the latest hits from the 40s–70s, and Saturday Freestyle classes, at 10 a.m., have artists working on personal projects during a no-holds-barred studio session, in which Talin offers technical instruction and the studio’s resident muses provide golf-claps of approval.
Methods used in each class can be found in Talin’s own work, which includes two 120-foot frescos currently housed in the Tuscan and Roman Intercontinental Hotels. In addition to studying art at Queens College, Talin has explored ancient techniques in Greece and soaked up secrets from artist Marbury Brown.

About Talin Tropic Co.
Talin Lyman's delicate brushstrokes cover the walls of a former U.S. vice president's winter home, frescoes within InterContinental hotels in Tuscany and Rome, and furniture that adorns Martha Stewart's own abode. From canvases to murals to throws of pillows designed for people and pets, the virtuosic painter daubs blank spaces with flora and fauna inspired by her childhood spent traveling to far-flung countries with her missionary father. Lyman also throws open the doors of her studio for an array of classes geared toward adults—such as Painting to the Oldies—and children, where she intersperses hands-on activities with lessons about great moments in art history, such as the day Georges Seurat invented the polka dot.
