Q:

Is this for one person to go up?

Hi Amanda, We can accomodate additional passengers. Please let us know when you schedule if you would like to bring someone along. There is an additional $20 charge for passengers. Thank you!

Q:

Does this actually include taking control of the plane and actually flying it (along with the pilot)? Or is this just a ride-along? Thank you.

Pam B.  asked on  Dec 5, 2012

A:

Hi Pam, This is an actual introductory lesson that counts towards the FAA minimum flight requirements to get a private pilots license. The person will sit in the left seat (pilots seat) and get to maneuver the aircraft as much or as little as they want. There are dual controls so the instructor will be at the controls at all times. Once established in the air at a safe altitude, you can do most of the flying.

Q:

If a person already has a pilot license, will getting him this groupon be of interest for him?

Irina R.  asked on  Dec 7, 2012

A:

This Groupon is valid for introductory lessons. If they already have their license, this might be redundant for them.

Q:

do I actually get to fly the plane during the discovery flight? do I actually takeoff and land or is that in later lessons? Very new to this idea, thanks for answering such novice questions.

If you are interested in taking lessons after your first flight, take off and landings will be a focus in your first 10-15 hours.

Q:

Do you actually get to have limited control of the aircraft (under supervision, of course) once off the ground? And what is the flight path around Tampa Bay? Thanks!

Hi Lou, This can be used towards a BFR but will not completely cover it. Feel free to give us a call for more information regarding this. Thank you.

Q:

May I buy one for myself -- then two additional, also for myself -- all three in the same person's name? Thank you ... Laura L.

Laura J.  asked on  Dec 4, 2012

A:

Hi Laura, You are supposed to purchase one for yourself and then additional ones may be used as a gift. The ground portion of the flight is an overview of getting your license which after hearing once won't be very beneficial. If you would like, after your Groupon flight, we can show you some different offers we have that will be better suited for you after your introductory flight.
