Today’s side deal is an envy-inducing combination of fete and feast: for $25, you get one ticket to the Back East Feast on Sunday, September 12, from 4 p.m.–8 p.m. at Tanglewood Golf Club in South Lyon. The feast includes edible access to a surf-heavy spread, plus two drink tickets, live music, and the possibility to trade in your surf for eight ounces of turf.
Perfect for ringing in autumn with the calming clack of lobster shells, the Back East Feast offers a taste of Atlantic seafare in the heart of Michigan. The feast itself starts at 5:30 p.m., so before getting in line to load up on corn on the cob, guests can stretch their hunger muscles while listening to the live tunes of Hidden Agenda Band and drinking one of the house wines or a Miller Lite.
In addition to one whole lobster per customer, the menu will include unlimited sides such as steam-cleaned mussels and New England seafood chowder, plus apple pie for dessert. Diners who prefer landmeat can substitute their lobster for an 8 oz. rib eye, but they must make a note of their preference when they purchase their ticket by calling Tanglewood Golf Club by September 7. Other than the lobster, no menu substitutions may be made, so genuine omnivores may be best suited for this all-consuming feast.
All guests must be 21 and over.
Although few reviews exist for the Back East Feast, Tanglewood Golf Club won Best Golf Course in 2009 and is currently in first place for 2010 according to CityVoters, who give it a five-star average:
