What You'll Get
Restaurants offer diners both a delicious reprieve from the kitchen and a secure environment that makes it virtually impossible for the dish to run away with the spoon. Keep your eating implements obedient with today’s Groupon: for $20, you get $40 worth of upscale American cuisine from Tap Root on Spenard Road. With an emphasis on fresh, local ingredients, Tap Root strikes a balance between upscale cuisine and no-frills comfort fare. Whiskey pepper steak jives with zucchini, green peppercorns, and potato pancake. Unlikely partners, crab and bacon strike a truce with macaroni in a buddy flick-ready dish sure to end with stomachs sated and hunger in police custody. Whet whistles with one of the restaurant's extensive selection of tap beers or locally produced meads. Tap Root also hosts live music, welcoming local tunesmiths to spark artistic fires with a variety of mellifluous minstrelsy.

About Tap Root Public House
After earning accolades for their dinner menu, the minds behind Tap Root Public House realized that there's more to life the just the last meal of the day. Now home to breakfast and lunch menus, the restaurant quells rumbling stomachs with dishes constructed from organic, free-range proteins and fresh Alaskan produce. A full juice bar and bloody mary bar join 22 local, handcrafted brews, a number of locally produced meads, and 40 different bourbons to form a formidable drink lineup. The restaurant lures in diners at all hours of the day; happy hour specials set the stage for post-work unwinding, and a late-night menu refuels wayfaring party-goers until 2.a.m. Local tunes from live bands fill the interior seven days a week, and Tap Root showcases local art on the first Friday of every month, which is the only day artists are allowed to go outside.
