About Taqo Detroit
Taqo Detroit doesn't merely put a spin on the spelling of taco. The restaurant's chefs also put a tasty, contemporary spin on Mexican favorites, whether it's in their specialty "taqos" or nachos made with a base of waffle fries in place of tortilla chips.
It's in their namesake dish that the chefs' creativity shines most, though. Along with the more classic street taco offerings, diners get their pick of tortillas (corn, flour, or whole-wheat), plus specialty tacos that include vegetarian-friendly and seafood selections. One can't-miss veggie taco is the taqo de hongos, stuffed with grilled exotic mushrooms and baby spinach, plus cilantro corn salsa and chipotle ranch. There's no shortage of meat options, either; new favorites include the BBQ smoked pork belly taco with green apple slaw and crumbled, smoked cheddar, or fish tacos with shrimp, catfish, and ahi tuna. Each of these tacos pairs well with one of Taqo's anejo, reposado, and silver tequila, traditional spirits that add a touch of desert magic to any meal.
