What You'll Get
Boat races are the safest places to practice pretend engine noises without attracting feral lawn mowers in heat. Rev up with today's Groupon: for $10, you get two tickets to Tastin' n Racin' in Issaquah on Saturday, June 11 or Sunday, June 12 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. (up to a $20 value). Children ages 5 and under receive free admission, and juniors (ages 6–16) and seniors (age 65+) enjoy $5 admission. Both tickets must be used at the same time.
Watercraft, entertainers, and exquisite edibles abound at the 15th annual Tastin' n Racin' Festival at Lake Sammamish State Park, inviting an array of boat enthusiasts and food aficionados alike. Inboard hydros, vintage inboards, and a number of other racing boats and jet skis zip past spectators on Saturday and Sunday, displaying breathtaking speed and perfect bellyflop form. Between cheering on charging watercraft with whistles and dolphin claps, crowds can shake their ears to the sounds emanating from the main stage, where a rockable lineup includes professional Jimi Hendrix revivalist Randy Hansen. Although not included in this Groupon, guests may bask in the sunshine at one of the festival's two beer gardens and pluck Snoqualmie and Haywire bottles from low-lying branches. Fifteen diverse food vendors present festival-goers with an array of succulent fixings for filling cheering mouths.
Small ponies, steep climbing walls, and a variety of other activities keep young ones active and entertained during the festival hours. Hydroplane exhibits bridge the gap between the aquatic racers and the Sunday display of classic cars, reconciling their long-held rivalry over who better resembles a Pacific tree frog.
