Teddy's Bigger Burgers
You may notice a slight time lag at Teddy's Bigger Burgers compared to other fast-food restaurants, but one bite and you'll know it was worth the extra seconds. That's because every patty at Teddy's is crafted from fresh ground chuck without any binders or fillers and is charbroiled to order. That fresh flavor extends up through the array of custom toppings and to the sweet-and-tangy special sauce crowning each burger. In addition to the burgers, healthy options include build-your-own salads, grilled chicken and veggie burgers—along with a full kids menu and free underground parking.
Founders Ted and Rich came up with the concept for Teddy's during their backyard cookouts. While grilling, they wondered why restaurant-quality burgers weren't served in fast casual-style environments. The duo looked to 1950s burger joints for inspiration and began composing a simple menu around the fundamentals: burgers, fries, beer-battered onion rings, and extra-thick shakes. The 1950s also inspired Teddy's black-and-white-decor accented by classic cars and neon and the decision to serve the burgers in baskets instead of encasing them in snow globes. After founding their first location on Oahu, that successful formula has helped Teddy's spread to locations throughout Hawaii, being dubbed the Best Burger in The Aloha State for over 15 years running, with new outposts in California, Washington, and Iowa.
