When girls develop writing, research, critical-thinking, and leadership skills, it can empower them to speak out about social issues and affect change in their communities. Teen Voices mentors girls in the media arts and in leadership development with creative programming that helps to create its print and online magazine. G-Team members who donate $25 to today’s campaign will receive a one-year Teen Voices membership, which includes biannual print issues of the Teen Voices magazine and monthly e-newsletters.
In its 12-week journalism program called Sisters Helping Other Unheard Teens (SHOUT!), Teen Voices helps young women to develop the skills to write about social issues, with an audience of 45,000 print readers worldwide. College-age female mentors guide teen editors as they write, research, edit, analyze, and think critically to craft articles about issues that affect teen girls. Teen Voices would like to support one teen editor for the duration of the program by providing journalism resources such as workforce-development information, media-literacy workshops, technology training, a digital voice recorder for interviews, and the use of a computer for typing and editing, as well as healthy snacks.
Join G-Team and donate $10 or $25 to help empower young girls to speak out about the social issues that affect them and their peers through journalism. If G-Team members raise $350, Teen Voices will be able to support one teen editor participating in its 12-week SHOUT! program. Each additional donation will go toward sponsoring another teen editor.
Unlike traditional Groupon deals, G-Team campaigns typically don't offer you a "discount" or "savings." So "buyer" beware—when you click "Buy" to donate your time or money to a worthwhile G-Team cause, the only discount you may receive is 100% off free, priceless karma. Read more about G-Team.
