What You'll Get

Nestled in the more than 13,000-foot white-capped peaks of the Rocky Mountains, the Telluride Yoga Festival aggregates a world-spanning assortment of teachers, students, speakers, and stretchers for a weekend full of yoga camaraderie. A laundry list of intimate yoga workshops and classes showcases everything from the Mysore workshop—a style of Ashtanga Yoga—to the Sita, Ram, and Hanuman workshop, which combines advanced asanas and chanting. In the Flying, Floating, and Handstand Vinyasa class, esteemed yoga practitioner David Swenson guides students of all levels through the delicate arts of handstands, balancing, and blowing gum bubbles while upside-down. Participants can also pick and choose from an array of lunchtime workshops, performances, and panel discussions led by highly-regarded international teachers and experts. Classes take place in Telluride and the nearby Mountain Village, which can be reached via a quick walk or complimentary gondola ride that connects both destinations. Attendees are advised to bring their own yoga mats, equipment, and leashes for harnessing their chi.
Inspired and founded by yoga instructor Aubrey Hackman, the fourth annual Telluride Yoga Festival turns 25% off net profits to a local environmental nonprofit. The festival is a zero-waste event and maintains its green vision with eco-friendly practices such as recycling and hiring Captain Planet to be a keynote speaker.
