The all-volunteer, non-profit theatrical company Tempe Live! Theater wraps up its 2010–2011 season with Getting Sara Married, a comedic series of about Sara Hastings, a busy lawyer in her mid-30s, who is set-up for marriage by her imposing Aunt Martha. During the 1.5–2 hour production (intermission included) audience members can absorb the comedic theatricalities as Brandon Cates—who is already engaged to be married—endures kidnapping, memory loss, and numerous mouth-to-mouth resuscitations at the hands of prying Aunt Martha. The opportune misadventures and mistaken identities between Sara and Brandon should induce hearty bouts of laughter, a few moments of poignant thought, and a split-second insatiable craving for fish tacos.
Growling stomachs conceived before, during, or immediately after high-fiving neighboring audience members at the show's conclusion can be tamed at one of the many restaurants and bars found downtown in the Mill Avenue District, just a quarter-mile away from the theater.
