- $17 for one Learn to Knit or Learn to Crochet class (up to $35 value)
Beginners spend three hours under expert instruction during Learn to Knit classes. The instructor coaches 3–10 pupils through each yarn pull as they learn to cast on, knit, purl, and bind off before mastering garter and stockinette stitches with their own circular needles and yarn.<p>
For those who prefer to use a hook, then the two-hour Learn to Crochet classes teach new students and those looking for a refresher in crocheting how to chain and make single- and double-crochet stitches. Supplies are not included with either class, but can be purchased from the shop.
Arizona Yarn & Fiber
The artisans at Arizona Yarn & Fiber cultivate a pair of educational atmospheres where creativity flourishes amid inventories of yarns, fibers, and equipment. Largely stocked by local suppliers, the two studios house classrooms where pupils learn to knit, crochet, spin, weave, and dye fibers. Instructors well versed in the fiber arts bring in classes that teach skills such as beginning knitting, gradually progressing to more complicated maneuvers such as patching up a hot air balloon in motion. Teachers also allow students to set their own pace during project-help sessions, offering pointers as needed.
