Experienced knitting instructors teach beginners knit, purl, and basic knitting skills, such as garter and stockinette.
The 3-8 pupils in each beginner class spend three hours learning to cast on, knit, purl, and bind off before mastering garter and stockinette stitches with their own circular needles and yarn. Supplies--one skein of yarn and one set of needles--are not included. Plan on coming in a few minutes prior to class starting to receive help selecting exactly what you need to have the best learning experience. Schedules are updated quarterly for the Tempe Yarn & Fiber location. A minimum of 3 students must be scheduled for the class to be taught. To attend a class, students must call and schedule their space at least 72 hours in advance of the scheduled date/time.
