What You'll Get
Much like competitive eating, belly dancing puts the stomach on display in a hypnotic, rhythmic, and ketchup-optional performance. Accentuate abdominals with today’s Groupon: for $39, you get a 10-class pass to Temple Goddess Dance & Yoga in Tarpon Springs (a $120 value).
Led by Middle Eastern dance expert Eve Savva, Temple Goddess's high-caliber staff of Yoga Alliance–certified instructors molds movers and stretchers of all skill levels. The studio specializes in belly dancing and yoga, with a generous weekly schedule featuring both morning and evening classes to cater to exercisers regardless of work hours or sitcom addictions. Students can saucily shake stomachs to the beginner routines taught in Bellydance One, and eventually work their way up to level three, where they'll learn to incorporate props such as scarves, swords, and lint brushes. The studio's mat-bound curriculum includes a one-hour introductory yoga course and a Vinyasa session, where limbernauts, much like competitive freeze-taggers, hold a series of poses for three to five breaths. For cardio-classified workouts, the studio also hosts calorie-torching versions of both belly dancing and yoga.
