Tennis Club at Springhurst’s team of USPTA- and PTR-certified instructors serves up the finer points of tennis at two professional-level facilities during four-week classes for kids and adults. Students select their date and time to slam a salvo of balls in time to bumping tunes during Cardio Tennis classes, whose hour of movement drills is open to all levels of athlete and anything sporting a sweatband. Intro to Tennis classes invite students to develop game or refresh their skills with step-by-step instruction on basic strokes and techniques, with all tennis tackle included. Teachers adjust the curriculum for players aged 10 and younger, employing the USTA Quickstart format’s foam and low-compression balls, age-appropriate nets, and attenuated court sizes to facilitate smaller limbs. The academy’s other location, Top Gun Academy, has grown to include 13 outdoor tennis courts and a 18,000-square-foot indoor multi-sport facility. Dually dedicated to excellence in sports, both facilities offer programs that have helped produce college-level players and championship teams.
