What You'll Get
Contacts are an imperfect solution to bad vision, often getting scratchy and dry or whispering trash talk during staring contests. Render irksome lenses redundant with today's Groupon: for $2,599, you get LASIK or PRK surgery at Teplick Custom Vision in Beaverton (a $5,200 value).
Dr. Stanley Teplick of Teplick Custom Vision culls from more than 30 years of experience, in which he trained at the Mayo Clinic and performed 35,000 refractive surgeries, to sharpen eyesight with the VISX Star S4 and IntraLase bladeless lasers. During an initial screening, biomicroscopic paparazzi snap pictures of the eyes to take measurements, analyze tear film, and see which cornea looks best in couture. Approved candidates return for their scheduled procedure, which includes a few more tests and a brief 15 minutes under the virtual knife as the doctor deftly numbs eyes and reshapes the corneas. Patients then go home to rest while donning protective goggles, coming back the next day for a postoperative exam and ceremonial glasses smashing.

About Teplick Custom Vision/Teplick Aesthetics
In Dr. Stanley Teplick's 30 years of experience, he's trained at the Mayo Clinic, served as a professor of ophthalmology, and performed 45,000 refractive surgeries. One such procedure was performed live on television, when KPTV Oregon anchor Shauna Parsons beamed her experience live into the Fox News studios. Parsons wasn’t the only high-profile patient to rely on Dr. Teplick's skills, which have also plucked spectacles off the famous faces of professional athletes, TV personalities, and Miss Oregon 2008. Whether glasses don't fit the wearers' lifestyles or patients are simply tired of harvesting contact lenses from their thorny vines, Dr. Teplick's surgeries provide solutions to a wide array of peeper problems. His practice also expands to care for the rest of the face by offering cosmetic injections and chemical peels.
