More Questions and Answers

Q:

I have FSA through my employer. Do you happen to know if LASIK procedure is paid by Groupon, it's still a qualified medical expense for FSA reimbursement?

Tommy F.  asked on  Apr 28, 2013

A:

Your FSA will not cover if purchased with Groupon. Please contact our office for your options.

Q:

I have been nearsighted since adolescence and now in my mid forties starting to have close vision changes. Can both of these problems be corrected? As I get older would the close vision blurriness be expected to still get worse? Without a groupon what is the fee for a consultation?

rochelle V.  asked on  Apr 28, 2013

A:

There is a way to correct for both and it is called mono vision and Dr. Teplick will go over all of your options at your consultation. The consultation is free with or without a Groupon.

Q:

May I have a consultation to see if I'm a good candidate *before* I purchase the Groupon? I'm very near-sighted, and have astigmatism, plus when I used to wear soft contacts, I developed blood vessels in my cornea from lack of oxygen. (you can't see them now as I have been wearing glasses ever since this was discovered by my optometrist). Does this rule me out as a candidate? Would I therefore, become a more "difficult" patient?

Laveda A.  asked on  Apr 27, 2013

A:

You would still need to buy the Groupon and then if you are not a candidate then Groupon will refund you your money.

Q:

I wore soft contact lenses for about 20 years and had to switch to regular eye glasses after being diagnosed with dry eyes 4 years ago. Would I be a candidate for this surgery?

Bonnie H.  asked on  Apr 26, 2013

A:

You would need to buy the Groupon and then schedule your pre operative exam and at that time we will determine your candidacy.

Q:

Is there a lifetime warranty or guarantee with this LASIK surgery? If I were to purchase this deal are there any other fees involved, like the pre-screening fee or anything else? Or does this $2599 cover the full pre- and post-surgical care and services? Also, will Dr. Teplick perform the surgery or will one of his associates?

Olivia W.  asked on  Apr 24, 2013

A:

Re-treatments are complimentary for the first year. After the first year there may be a small fee for the re-treatment at the discretion of Teplick Vision. The $2599 covers your pre operative exam/consultation, the surgery performed by Dr. Teplick (he is our only surgeon) and three post operative follow ups. After the first three post operative exams you may be charged $50 a visit for care. Most people only require three visits.

Q:

I'm 52 years old - just noticing more of a need for full-time glasses wearing - is this a good reason for this surgery now or should I wait? Is it a one time in a lifetime surgery??

Kate T.  asked on  Apr 23, 2013

A:

You would need a consultation to determine if lasik is for you. You can purchase the groupon and if you are not a candidate they will refund you.

Q:

Would insurance providers be able to reimburse me if I purchased this Groupon? I have Kaiser, but I suppose the question is universal.

Scott C.  asked on  Apr 23, 2013

A:

Insurance does not cover LASIK because it is considered a cosmetic procedure.
