Hike out of your office cubicle into the splendid cubicle of wilderness with this Groupon. For $15, take a friend on a 5–7 hour hiking trip with TerraMar Adventures (a $30 value). This Groupon is good for two local hiking adventures on TerraMar's year-round calendar. Bring a friend or wander into the wilderness twice.
Hikes are scheduled monthly; past trips include a jaunt through White Creek Preserve and a hike on the Pinnacle and Pulpit Trail and upcoming trips include the Wissahickon Gorge and Tohikon Valley Trail. An experienced guide will lead your fresh-air trek through the wilds of the Northeast. Meet Philadelphia's flora and fauna for exercise, an outing with fellow outdoor enthusiasts, or an escape from the treeless expanses of the indoors. TerraMar's friendly guides are certified in wilderness first aid, so don’t worry about using up Band-Aids to heal huggable trailside cardinals.
The starting point of your adventure will depend on the specific hike you take. Reserve online in advance, since hikes are limited to small groups.
One Yahoo! Local user gives TerraMar three stars:
- Ever wanted to go skydiving, rockclimbing or whitewater rafting? TerraMar knows how and where to do it. – Carl
Great Moments in Thanksgiving History
To celebrate this day of giving thanks, let’s take a moment to remember these great moments in Thanksgiving history:
1621, Plymouth Plantation: Unlike today’s traditional Thanksgiving turkey, the menu at the first Thanksgiving consisted of local affordables (mashed bees, pickled apples, and “water.”)
1891, Washington, DC: After the traditional pardoning of a Thanksgiving turkey, President Benjamin Harrison makes the turkey his Secretary of Commerce.
1998, Omaha, Nebraska: Thanksgiving is ruined for one Richie Harrington when his father’s slip of the tongue reveals that his current family is not dad’s first, or favorite.
2019: A brief respite from the howling winds and constant lightning allows the residents of a place once called America to reflect.

About Philadelphia Bridge Running and Happy Hour Training Program
The ODDyssey Half Marthon training team is waiting for you––but they won't wait long. Every Tuesday night in April, the team makes a trek across Philadelphia's network of bridges in anticipation of the ODDyssey Half Marathon on June 8. After each run, the whole team piles into a bar for a complimentary Sly Fox craft beer and a pit stain competition. At the end of happy hour, participants enter into a raffle for such prizes as running shoes, apparel, and koozies. Anyone who completes all five training runs will earn a commemorative T-shirt as well. Each week focuses on one running club and one fundraising effort, and all proceeds from registration go to charity.
