The eponymous chef of Terri’s Table, A Personal Chef Service totes along groceries and sophisticated technique to private kitchens, where she performs instructive, themed demonstrations for aspiring cooks. The Fearless Fish demonstration guides apprentices through proper techniques for preparing seafood, encompassing popular varieties such as mahi-mahi, tilapia, and salmon. International Small Plates loads local tables with faraway flavors, obviating the need for distracting custom’s agents with a one-man-band performance of Beethoven’s Symphony no. 2. The dishes draw inspiration from such worldly cuisine as Spanish tapas, Greek mezze, and Italian antipasto. Both hands-on demonstrations last about two hours, enough time to ask any questions about food safety and possible substitutions, such as yogurt for sour cream, cinnamon for nutmeg, or car keys for a wine opener. After all cooking has concluded, ravenous groups can chow down on the finished product, leaving all cleanup to chef Terri.
