Is this a certification recognized by Richardson Independent School District in Texas? How is this different from the ESL Supplement 154?

Carol C.  asked on  Dec 26, 2012

A:

You need to check with your district to see if it is, but there is no reason why it shouldn't be if all you need is a certification course.

Q:

PS - Maybe answering these questions directly would also be helpful: Is the program offering accredited online TESOL certification? Do they have affiliations with any educational institutions? How many students have graduated from their courses? How long have they been in operation? Do they have a physical office?

Q:

I am trying to understand if this is a standardized, accredited course that will be recognizable to the foreign school community and considered legitimate proof for hiring. I have read all the information on the site in its entirety and cannot find any indication of a clear answer to this question. I believe that's why so many of us are asking, Groupon. Can someone assist us in answering this question once and for all prior to the deal deadline? Thank you!

SUSAN D.  asked on  Dec 30, 2012

A:

Our experience has shown us that some employers sometimes look for one focus more than another-they might be looking for country/culture specific training or work experience for instance and in these rare cases some students might of had problems. We cannot guarantee that all employers will regard this course as being relevant to their needs (*no school offering a TESOL certificate can do this) but we have done our best to ensure that the curriculum follows a standard that is generally accepted by everyone by following the Cambridge model. If you decide TESOL is desirable for you, we really hope you choose us to be your service provider.

Buket Y.  asked on  Dec 30, 2012

A:

From the first day of your training, you will be a part of a continuous course of action with our teacher-instructors regarding the most up-to-date teaching modes and procedures. Our program is proficiently managed and examined by external, autonomous, and expert teachers. Once you have passed the course you will immediately be issued the certificate which you can take with you to any employer, anywhere in the world. The certificate will describe everything you have received training in.

Q:

Once one starts the course, do you have deadline to complete the 6 modules or can you do it on your own pace?

Marie L.  asked on  Dec 30, 2012

A:

You can start the course whenever you want but you have 12 months from the date of activation to complete it. The course is 100% online (no need to leave the comfort of your home) and entirely self-directed meaning it is to be done at you own pace and on your own time.

Q:

What is the difference in the 150 hr course content intro upon vs that is in the 150 hr specialist course mentioned on your website? What is the course content? Is it the same? Thank you.

SARMISTHA B.  asked on  Dec 29, 2012

A:

To see a detailed lesson by lesson breakdown of the course please go to: http://tesols.com/tesol/ We have 80hour, 100hour and 120hour courses along with the 150hour Specialist course; the first three are for people who have already taken a certain level of TESOL training. If you have and can demonstrate it, you may be able to be exempt from some modules but the course we offer assumes that you have no previous TESOL experience.

Q:

Where can i read past users reviews of Tesols.com?

Nate N.  asked on  Dec 29, 2012

A:

The reason you might not be able to find reviews is because Google buries us under the keyword: Tesol reviews instead of Tesols reviews. Try this, Google "Tesols" reviews and you should find something there.
