You need to check with your district to see if it is, but there is no reason why it shouldn't be if all you need is a certification course.

Q:

I am interested in teaching ESL classes for immigrants who wish to become US citizens. I am not a teacher but worked 35 years as an RN, working with people from many countries. Would this class be appropriate for this purpose?

Nyla N.  asked on  Dec 26, 2012

A:

Definitely! A TESOL certificate is regarded as an imperative prerequisite to be able to work as an English language instructor. Our training sessions are demanding and practical. From the first day of your training, you will be a part of a continuous course of action with our teacher-instructors regarding the most up-to-date teaching modes and procedures. Our program is proficiently managed and examined by external, autonomous, and expert teachers. Once you have passed the course you will immediately be issued the certificate which you can take with you to any employer, anywhere in the world. If you decide TESOL is desirable for you, we really hope you choose us to be your service provider.

Q:

Your voucher says that one must start the progrm by June. How long does one have to complete the 150 hours? Can one take one class at a time during the school year and then work more intensely over the summers?

robin h.  asked on  Dec 26, 2012

A:

You can start the course whenever you want but you have 12 months from the date of activation to complete it. The course is 100% online (no need to leave the comfort of your home) and entirely self-directed meaning it is to be done at you own pace and on your own time.

Q:

I would like a bit of clarification. Is a teaching degree required (in addition to the ESL certification) in order to be "employable"?

Michelle  asked on  Dec 26, 2012

A:

Not at all, there are many places around the world that would employ you even without a university degree.

Q:

I read the website, but have more questions. (1) Do purchasers via Grouponicus get the ENTIRE package as detailed on the TESOL .com site? As I understand from reading the website, there are "free" add-ons for those who purchase your TESOL course by year's end. These are listed among the benefits: the "Grammar Module," ongoing "Job Guidance," help from "Individual Tutors," ongoing usage of the "Grad Corner Blog," and, most interestingly, selection of which "Advance Courses" can be taken for "free." Please confirm if these are among the included benefits. If not all of these benefits apply to the special, please state what is NOT included. (2) The site also mentions "Opportunities for Practical Training" as an included benefit. Please elaborate on this particular one, and be specific about the other included benefits as to whether or not each is included. Thank you.

Parker P.  asked on  Dec 26, 2012

A:

The Groupon deal only includes the TESOL course (the free add-ons are for those who purchase at regular price). That being said, we extend Groupon purchasers the opportunity to take the add-ons (International Teaching Certifications in Business English, Science English or Math English) at a discounted rate of $69. What we do for you is once you complete your certification you are given access to our exclusive job bank which is updated daily. This is an excellent resource to gain employment anywhere you want around the world.
