Q:

Upon activating my purchase through TESOLS.com, how long do I have to complete this course? Do I only have one month, or do I have 6 months...1 year...etc?

Carmen S.  asked on  Jan 31, 2013

A:

You can start the course whenever you want but you have 12 months from the date of activation to complete it. The course is 100% online (no need to leave the comfort of your home) and entirely self-directed meaning it is to be done at you own pace and on your own time. Q:

Is there any college credit associated with this course? Is accreditation granted to course from any educational institution? What makes your certificate a valid TESOL certificate?

Marilyn M.  asked on  Jan 29, 2013

A:

This course is a stand alone certificate program meaning you will not be issued credits for it. For most private schools and schools abroad it will be all you need to teach ESL. We are recognized by the English Language Teachers Society of Canada (http://elts.ca/schools/) and The Canadian Association of Second Language Teachers (http://caslt.org/members/members-structure-institutional-current_en.php), are Institutional members of IATEFL (http://www.iatefl.org/ Membership# 23323) and are on the list of applicant members for accreditation at ACTDEC (http://www.actdec.org.uk/members.shtml)

Q:

Is this certification recognized by colleges and universities? Does the CEA accreditation also recognize it as a legitimate certification? Of the students who complete the course work, where do they tend to work? In or out of the U.S.? Do you have testimonies of students who went through the course and saw the benefits of it?

Gloria G.  asked on  Jan 29, 2013

A:

This course is a stand alone certificate program meaning you will not be issued credits for it. For most private schools and schools abroad it will be all you need to teach ESL. You might find that were you to want to teach in a public school in Canada or the US, a certification course such as ours would not be sufficient because the school board requires you have a TESOL diploma instead, which takes 2-3 years to complete. If however you are interested in working in a private school or any school abroad, our course will be more than sufficient to give you the qualifications you need to get the job. To request testimonials, send us a message at info@tesols.com and we'll be happy to do so.
