Q:

Would I be able to use this to privately tutor ESL students? Also, is there some kind of certificate at the end so that there is proof I am certified once the course is completed?

PureRomance A.  asked on  Feb 2, 2013

A:

Definitely! (Great Idea) By passing the course (cumulative mark of 65% or higher) the qualification you receive is a TESOL Specialist Level II Certificate of Completion. A digital copy of the certificate will be sent out to you free of charge upon completion.

Q:

Because this is from Canadian Association of Second Language Teachers, would I be able to use this in the United States?

Taylor C.  asked on  Feb 2, 2013

A:

Definitely! You might find that were you to want to teach in a public school in Canada or the US, a certification course such as ours would not be sufficient because the school board requires you have a TESOL diploma instead, which takes 2-3 years to complete. If however you are interested in working in a private school or any school abroad, our course will be more than sufficient to give you the qualifications you need to get the job.

Q:

How soon after activation does the course have to be finished? By whom is the certification recognized? Are there tests to take and/or papers to submit?

Vivian N.  asked on  Feb 1, 2013

A:

Thank you for your interest. We are recognized by the English Language Teachers Society of Canada (http://elts.ca/schools/) and The Canadian Association of Second Language Teachers (http://caslt.org/members/members-structure-institutional-current_en.php), are Institutional members of IATEFL (http://www.iatefl.org/ Membership# 23323) and are on the list of applicant members for accreditation at ACTDEC (http://www.actdec.org.uk/members.shtml). The course is comprised of assignments, quizzes, projects and tests but no final exam. You can start the course whenever you want but you have 12 months from the date of activation to complete it. The course is 100% online (no need to leave the comfort of your home) and entirely self-directed meaning it is to be done at you own pace and on your own time. There are no extra courses, exams or costs associated with being certified; the deal price includes everything you need.
