Q:

Do you know if this certification qualifies for continuing education classes for educators...like Act 48?

Tiffany  asked on  Jan 6, 2014

A:

If you want to teach in a public school in Canada or the US, a certification course such as theirs may not be sufficient because the local school board may require you have a TESOL diploma instead, which takes 2-3 years to complete. If however you are interested in working in a private school or any school abroad, their course will be more than sufficient to give you the qualifications you need to get the job.

Q:

Since this is a 160-hour Online course, how are the sessions broken down? How long does it take to complete the course in its entirety? (Example: 2 hour session each night, 5 nights a week? Or, 3 hour session each night, 3 nights a week? Or, 5 hour session each day on the weekend? etc.)

Michael M.  asked on  Jan 6, 2014

A:

Please click here and select each module on the right side of the page in order to see the lesson breakdown. This course is completed online at your own pace within a year of the purchase date.

Q:

Why is the deal described as 160 hours in the description, but changes to 150 hours upon putting it in my cart and checking out? I can send a screen shot if needed.

Valerie M.  asked on  Jan 4, 2014

A:

I'm sorry for the confusion. The course is 160 hours, and we're working on correcting our site as soon as possible.

Q:

I do not see this course on the website. There is no course for 160 hours and no course for the $900-some regular price. Help?

Monica D.  asked on  Jan 3, 2014

A:

Sorry for the confusion. TESOLS.com has updated their website here to reflect that the class is 160 hours. The value of the Groupon is higher because it also includes Job Bank and e-Library access.

Q:

How is the TESOL certification different from a TEFL certification?

Laura M.  asked on  Jan 4, 2014

A:

Traditionally, TEFL refers to teaching in non-English speaking countries, whereas TESL refers to teaching in English speaking countries, to non-native speakers living or working there. In practice, though, the two terms are often used interchangeably, and both are covered by the all-encompassing TESOL.

Q:

How long does the certificate last? Is this a yearly certification thing? I assume it can be used by missionaries in foreign lands.

Roberta F.  asked on  Jan 4, 2014

A:

Your certificate will be valid indefinitely!
