What You'll Get
Like wearing glasses made with two microscopes, creating art allows you to look at the world from a fresh perspective. Put on your artsy eyes with today’s Groupon to the Texas Creative Arts Academy in Coppell and Southlake. Choose from three options:
- For $20, you get a two hour acting, theatre, or dance workshop at the Coppell location (a $40 value).
- For $20, you get a two hour acting, theatre, or dance workshop at the Southlake location (a $40 value).
- For $100, you get a basic theater birthday party at the Southlake location (a $250 value).
The Texas Creative Arts Academy cultivates creativity in young performers ages 4–18 years old with a bevy of high-energy workshops and parties. Run by industry professionals, weekend workshops broaden skills in acting, dance, film, and music for two hours or until the clocks melt on Saturdays. Intensive audition workshops at both locations fortify young actors with the skills to land their dream roles, and Southlake's Comedy & Improv workshop reveals the thrill of unscripted laughs and foibles. Workshops also cover topics such as stage makeup, musical theater dance, and how to rub a baby buggie's bumper.
Southlake's Broadway Bound birthday party, recommended for ages 5–12, fills 90 minutes with fun activities for up to 12 guests. Enthusiastic party directors transform motley crews of partiers into synchronized chorus lines with a 10-minute warm-up game and 40-minute rehearsal process. Kids absorb the choreography and lyrics to the Academy's customized birthday song like hungry sponges before performing for adoring parents. After the show, parents can supply cake, place settings, and drinks in the party room. The birthday boy or girl takes home a T-shirt from the Academy, the rush of a successful performance, and dreams of bowing before a group of people while being pelted by thousands of roses. Parties are available on Saturday and Sunday afternoons and early evenings.

About Texas Creative Arts Academy
Donna Park's passion for performance preceded the bulk of her vocabulary: at 4 years old, she got into the habit of correcting the dance steps of the other children in her recitals. Her unquenchable thirst for performance led her through a theater minor in college to the discovery of film, then onto a career as a director, writer, and producer of television specials and commercials. Now, calling upon contacts developed during her 20-year career, she brings working professionals to Texas Creative Arts Academy to share their hard-earned wisdom with the young.
The Academy's year-round programs gather students aged 4 to 18 to celebrate their interest in dance, art, film, and melodrama. Aspiring artisans learn the basics of canvas and garment craftsmanship in Hi Ho! Van Gogh! and Design Fashion Diva! camps. Teachers unlock high notes in students' vocal ranges with voice lessons and train the eyes of future cameramen in video-production classes. Piano and guitar instruction empowers kids to realize a future where spontaneous public musical numbers don’t just happen on stage.
