About Texas Doghouse
Husband-and-wife duo David and Heather Murphy have made a loving, multi-species family out of their five dogs and three children. The Murphys also encourage dogs to network with other dogs at their doggie daycamp, Texas Doghouse. Home to social, group-style dog daycare, the daycamp helps dogs bond through unstructured playtime and games of no-rules Marco Polo in the wading pools. Human attendants oversee the proceedings, doling out food and filtered water and administering necessary meds.
Dogs can stay at the doggie daycamp overnight, too, following their day of daycare with a night in a cozy bunk. Outside of boarding and daycare, the daycamp’s veteran trainer, Sammi Jo Stohler, can also teach pups how to cohabit with humans or how to avoid snakes.
