What You'll Get
To deal with the environmental impact of reindeer fuel, Santa recently announced his intention to deliver gifts this Christmas via solar-powered happy thoughts. Try a more reliable mode of holiday transport with today's Groupon: for $5, you get admission to Santa's Railroad Wonderland on December 4, 5, 11, or 12 (up to a $10 value) at the Texas Transportation Museum, located on Wetmore Road just north of the airport. A chronicler of San Antonio's transportation history, the museum houses a 1913 depot; model train layouts; and full-size engines, cars, and cabeese that run on 3,700 feet of railed roads. The whole getup is decked out with bundles of Christmas lights every holiday season, and between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. riders can show up to mount a metallic steed for a spin around the tracks to search for the legendary phantom mistletoe and listen to the San Antonio Ragtime Society politely pound on pianos. A hay ride pulled by the facility's antique Johnny Popper tractor is also included with admission.
